How Seaweed can help the body to Detox!

Definition of Detoxing / to Detox: Detoxification or detoxication (detox for short) is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances from a living organism, including the human body, which is mainly carried out by the liver.

In the modern world in which we live, our bodies are under constant assault from various toxins; Toxins we ingest through food and drink, those found in our environment, to those that are made as a by-product within our body.

The liver is the cleansing house of all these toxins but sooner or later its ability to detox efficiently becomes impaired due to continual loading.

For many of us we eating more fast foods or foods with a lot of additives or preservatives, we perhaps imbibe a bit too much, or we work and live in an area that has a level of pollution that’s simply out of our control. For many people, it’s a good idea to try and detox your body from time to time. Seaweed can be an ideal way to help with this by including in our daily diets.

In addition, they are powerhouses of minerals and trace minerals. Seaweed offers Detoxing Properties and is Rich in Antioxidants - Seaweed has natural detoxification properties that can cleanse the body of this toxic waste before it is stored in our bodies. It flushes these toxins from our systems through the digestive process. Seaweed removes fats and toxins from the body and helps protect the liver from toxic damage.

A Canadian study from McGill University found that seaweed absorbs cadmium and lead from inside the body, which can accumulate from cigarette smoke and industrial waste in the environment.

In truth, there aren’t foods or exercise routines that will ever replace the natural purpose of our internal organs, but we can support them with the right tools – in this case with diet and certain foods or herbs, as part of a healthy lifestyle.

During a detox, we can focus on adopting new habits, but long-term success means those habits should remain with us to help the body do its work all the time. But fear not: this does not mean you will be on an enteral diet!

So, why should we Detox?
